MDS - Cattails

Here is a card that I have made several times with paper. I love how simple this design is to make.  This time I decided to recreate it in MDS (My Digital Studio) to print out as many times as I need.

Material used on this project:

• chocolate chip textured cardstock
• whisper white cardstock
• top note die
• inspired by nature stamp
• word window punch

I love holding Stamp Class workshops.  I spend a lot of time choosing the cards to make (so many choices) and preparing.  And then I get to spend time with friends that share my hobby and enthusiasm.  It really is fun.

Butterfly Flight

 

 I cut the whisper white card stock with a window in the middle.  I cut the window leaving a 1" border around the outside.  I then cut the card stock to 5 1/4" x 4" with a 3/4" border for the window.  I then cut a 3 x 3 square to stamp the grass and butterfly and glued in behind the window.  I stamped the sanded background with chocolate chip ink on kraft paper and then sponged chocolate chip ink on the the side.  I tied chocolate ribbon around the kraft paper and then blued this layer on the white.

Notepad

My newest creation is this little notepad. I am very excited with how it turned out. I am always needing a piece of paper to write down notes each time that I go visit my dad, so I decided to make something that anyone could use and looks better than just a plain notebook. The front and back cover are just 1/4 sheets of card-stock and then I decorated the front with something I hope my dad will enjoy seeing.


Now that I have made this notepad I can't wait to make more for other people and other occasions. The great thing about this notepad is that I can just add more pages when these have all been used. All I did for the paper is cut plain printer paper into quarters and punched the holes to match. I did run the paper through my printer first to put lines on before cutting but you would not need to. (I will try to upload my lined paper to print that is already formatted to fit.)

Dads and Graduation

This time of year is always so busy with school getting ready to finish, graduation, mother's day around the corner, and summer starting.

I have put together a group of projects that can cover many occasions with the boys and men in your life as well as any graduation occasions that you may be attending.

I hope that you can come join us for a fun night of stamping and you can enjoy making these items as much as I enjoyed making them.

Enrichment - Thanks You's

Wednesday was Enrichment Night in my ward. I am the new enrichment leader and was asked to make a thank you card and nugget box as a thank you for the speakers that we had come. Since all of the speakers were men I could not make anything to cutesy. I always find it harder to make things that will appeal to men. I do think that these did the trick. Please let me know if you like them.

Love this layout

I love this layout because it is so simple and yet can be changed for very different looks.

I began this card with a white base card, then layered a piece of chocolate chip paper, topped with a piece of so saffron DP. I stamped the image onto water color paper with black stazon ink so that it would not run when I add the water. I colored the image using markers from Stampin' Up! and then used the aqua painter to blend the colors together, last sponged the edges with so saffron ink. I layered the image on a chocolate chip and so saffron mat. Next, I punched flowers out of sage shadow to match the bow on the hedgehog. I wanted to add a little bling to this card so I added stickle centers to the floers in the basket and glued jewel dots (from roberts) to the center of the punched flowers.

Paper: whisper white, chocolate chip, so saffron, sage shadow, so saffron DP, water color paper
Ink: black stazon
Punches: spring bouquet (retired)
Accessories: stickles, jewel dots, Aleen's tacky glue, stampin' write markers, aqua painter

Masculine Tree

After I finished the above card I wanted to make another card using the same layout and went looking for stamps to use. I pulled out "Lovely as a Tree" and thought that this would work perfect for a masculine card. I put this together the same way as above with a few changes. I used certainly celery paper to mat the image. I tied a piece of jute twine around the end and used dimentionals to raise the image mat layer to allow room for the jute. This card can be used for many occcasions. Just stamp a sentiment on the bottom or leave blank and write a message inside.

Ink: black stazon
Accessories: stampin' write markers, aqua painter, jute twine, dimentionals
Techniques: water color with markers
