Change in Catalog Program

During Shelli's teleconference Wednesday night, it was announced that we will be moving back to an annual catalog. We have been evaluating our catalog strategy for some time to determine what is most effective for you, and based on what we've learned and the feedback you have provided, we have decided to return to an annual catalog.

Because of the lead times involved in creating a catalog and the products that go into it, we had originally planned to make this change in July 2010. However, after considering the current economic situation and the effect it is having on your businesses, we have re-evaluated the timeline for this change and decided to launch the annual Idea Book & Catalog this coming July 2009.

What does this change mean to you?

  • Beginning in July 2009, we will go back to an annual catalog.
  • The US Hispanic supplement will also become an annual catalog.
  • The Décor Elements catalog will continue to be separate from the Idea Book & Catalog, and will come out twice a year.
  • The mini catalog program will change to include three mini catalogs a year, each lasting for four months.

In addition to the changes mentioned above, we will be introducing a small selection of hostess sets in each mini catalog. This will give your customers even more reason to host multiple workshops throughout the year.

We know that you will have lots of questions about these changes, and we will be providing more details in the coming months. Look for even more information to come as we get closer to the release of our new annual catalog in July.

We are excited about these changes and the benefits your businesses will see from them. Going back to an annual Idea Book & Catalog will decrease your cost of doing business and will simplify the catalog program--allowing you to focus on doing and sharing what you love.

Coaster Calendar

We made this calendar during my last Stamp class. I have seen many versions of calendars on SCS made with tons of different colors and ideas. This was my version of all the great ideas that are out there. I did not have any coasters but I do have sheets of chipboard so I just cut the board to 4 x 4 inches.

To make your own all that you will need is a coaster or chipboard, paper for the background, binder clip, calendar, and misc. ribbon and accessories. You can print your own calendars here as many times as you need.

The first thing that you will need to do is to cut the designer paper just slightly larger than the coaster chipboard. I used tombo glue to attach the DP to chipboard and make sure that it would not come off. Next, I cut two pieces of rose red paper, one being 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 and the other 1 1/4 x 1 7/8. Make sure to sponge on chocolate chip ink around all pink paper. The small piece of rose red will need to be glued around the top of the binder clip. Place binder clip on the board to determine placement of rose red mat. Glue down the large piece of rose red mat and place calendars on top and attach by placing binder cip on top of everything. Next, you will need to tie around approx. 12 inches of chocolate chip ribbon around the bottom of coaster. The last thing that you will need to do is punch out all of the flowers that you would like to place to decorate. You can attach the top flower on the binder cip using a glue dot and covering the back with a small piece of paper to cover the glue.

Listed below is everything that you will need to reproduce this great little calendar. You can also add a strip of magnet on the bottom of the chipboard to attach it to anything metal. I hope that you enjoy this little calendar and can make some for yourself. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: Old Olive DP, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink:
chocolate chip
Punches: 5 petal flower ( to make leaves), boho flower, 1/4" circle
Accessories: chocolate chip ribbon, medium binder clip, magnet strip, glue dots, sanding block
