In Colors

It is taking me some time to get used to the new in-colors in the current catalog. I decided to try a couple of cards that I have seen from other stampers.

Punches: scallop edge punch
Accessories: gingham ribbon from hobby lobby

The second card I have seen done several times but I really liked the way Tara did it on her blog. To get the instructions for this card you can click here. The technique used to make the hair is called frayed ribbon. You can find this tutorial here.

Ink:

Enrichment - Thanks You's

Wednesday was Enrichment Night in my ward. I am the new enrichment leader and was asked to make a thank you card and nugget box as a thank you for the speakers that we had come. Since all of the speakers were men I could not make anything to cutesy. I always find it harder to make things that will appeal to men. I do think that these did the trick. Please let me know if you like them.

Stamps: Seeing Spots, True Friend
Paper: chocolate chip, night of navy, very vanilla
Ink: chocolate chip, night of navy, more mustard
Accessories: ribbon, brad, sticky strip, address labels, nuggets
Techniques: sponging

Survey

I have created a survey that I would love for you to take to help me design better classes for you. If you could just spend less than 5 minutes and take this survey I would greatly appreciate it. I am trying to create classes that you are interested in and this will help me do it. All that you will have to do is click on the word survey at the bottom of this post to respond.

Bag in a Box

I have seen so many of these cute projects all over the blog sphere. I have wanted to try one for a very long time, here is my version. You can find the instructions to make these by clicking here. This was much easier to make than I thought it would be and will be a very versatile project that can be used for tone of things.

Here is a close up of the detail on the front. The circle that is behind the scallop punch is done by placing two round tab punches together. The scallop that is one the bottom was made using the slit punch.

Stamps: One of a Kind
Paper: certainly celery, bashful blue, whisper white, cutie pie DP
Ink:
bashful blue
Punches: scallop edge circle, 1" circle, 1-1/4" circle, 1-3/8" circle, round tab, slit, boho blossoms
Accessories: ribbon, circle rhinestone brad, white gel pen
Techniques: punches, faux stitching

Last Night

Those who were unable to make it last night...

these are the projects that you missed. If you would still like to make them let me know.

Summertime Tree

To make this page we started with the bashful blue base and then added the tree. I made a pattern for the tree myself and cut it out of chocolate chip paper, we distressed the edges and used the edge of the stamp pad to make the lines for the trunk. We then used the scallop punch with garden green and celery for all of the leaves and plants, we sponged all the edges with garden green. The fence was made with whisper white 1/4-inch rails and the word window punch for the posts. The sun was made with the scallop punch and yo yo yellow. Once it was punched we lightly attached the yellow scallop to a plain piece of copy paper and used the scallop punch off-set to make the points instead of the round scallops, we then sponged with only orange. The swing was attached under the tree by piercing a whole in the blue and tying a knot on the back of the page. The holes are hidden by the leaves of the tree. The twine is pulled through the swing and tied in a knot on the bottom. This is attached to the blue with dimentionals. Tada!!! You should have 2 new pages for your scrapbook enjoyment.

Paper: bashful blue, chocolate chip, garden green, certainly celery, whisper white, yo yo yellow

Ink: garden green, cho
colate chip, only orange, real red
Punches: scallop circle punch, word window
Accessories: sponge, hemp twine, dimentionals
Techniques: punches, sponging

Baja Chocolate

To make these pages we started with close to cocoa base which we stamped using the versa mark ink. We then sponges the edges with chocolate chip ink. Set these aside to let them dry while we finish up. Next, we take the 12" baja breeze paper and stamp the image in different directions using chocolate chip and set aside. Next, we used the new scallop edge punch, I found this punch a little difficult to line up when I first tried it but know that I have the hang of it - I LOVE IT! We punched the whole 12" inch side and then pierced a whole in each of the scallops, this kind of makes it look like lace. All of the layers should be dry by now so we just glue them all together, glue the white on the back of the chocolate chip edge, and then glue the chocolate chip to the bottom of the baja breeze. Glue all of these layers down to the base and you are almost finished. The last thing that we need to do is to staple ribbon to the edges of the 2 photo mats. I did not have any matching ribbon for the new baja breese so I just dyed some of the white grosgrain that I had. To dye ribbon you can use an ink refill or your stamp pad. You can see a tutorial for it here and here. I hope that you like this page. I really enjoyed coming up with the design and I loved using the new in-colors.

Stamps: True Friend
Paper: close to cocoa, baja breeze, chocolate chip, whisper white
Ink: chocolate chip, versa mark
Punches: scallop edge punch
Accessories: ribbon, paper piercer, staples, sponge
Techniques: watermark, sponging

Bella Rose Kiss

I really enjoyed making this card. I loved it so much that I cased it from Lori so that we could make it last night. All of the colors that we used are the new In-Colors. We used ridinghood red for the base and punched the scallop edge on the front. We then placed a layer of kiwi kiss behind to top and scalloped the edge as well. All of the squares we distressed/roughed up the edges and then glued down to the pink pirouette and then glued that down to a layer of kiwi kiss. The flower is from the
big flowers stamp set and we stamped that in ridinghood red, punched it out and layered it onto a chocolate chip punch. Glue the flower down to the squares and pierce a hole through the center to place the brad. Glue this whole layer down to the card front and stamp one of the phrases from heard from the heart in chocolate chip. Last, tie a piece of chocolate ribbon to the top and you are FINISHED!

Stamps: Big Flowers, Heard from the Heart
Paper: ridinghood red, kiwi kiss, pink pirouette, whisper white, bella rose DP
Ink: ridinghood red, chocolate chip
Punches: scallop edge punch, 1-1/4" circle, 1-3/8" circle
Accessories: ribbon, brad
Techniques: punches, distressing tool

Pick a Thank You

This was the last project that we did last night. I also cased this idea from my favorite stamper out there in cyberspace. This idea came from Angie
at chic n' scratch. This is one of the easiest stamping projects that I have done and oh so cute. You first need to stamp the thank you from enjoy every moment and line this up with the bottom of the white layer. Next, stamp the circle from pick a petal. Next is to choose a petal and stamp this on the top. glue this layer to the colored layer and then place this on top of the white base. Last but not least tie a matching ribbon to the base of the card and WAHLA! your done. Now isn't that cute.

Stamps: Pick a Petal, Enjoy Every Moment
Paper: whisper white, real red, night of navy
Ink:
real red, night of navy
Accessories: 5/8" ribbon

I hope that you enjoy these projects as much as we did. Please let me know if you are interested in making these now that you have seen them.
